Realization of Qi-Wu-Zhang model in spin-orbit-coupled ultracold fermions

An experimental realization of the Qi-Wu-Zhang model for quantum anomalous Hall effect is achieved based on ultracold fermions with two-dimensional spin-orbit coupling. A robust protocol pump-probe quench measurement developed to precisely determine, minimal heating, properties topological systems a limited lifetime.
